Pippies Early Childhood Centre

Our Programs
Pippies is a culturally safe and inclusive environment. Educators acknowledge the First Nations people and aim to deliver a program that is embedded with practices and experiences that respectfully educate children in a culturally appropriate way. Together we embed our local Bundjalung culture through exploring language, the six seasons, song and stories. We are guided by the 8 Aboriginal ways of learning, and we pay respect to Country each morning in our Yarning Circle.

Preschool Enrichment Program
Our program is run daily for children attending school the following year. Our early childhood teachers implement high quality, play based educational programs using intentional teaching practices that support children's learning and development through play. The program is a balance of child-led exploration with teacher initiated and scaffolded learning experiences.
The small group setting allows children's interests and strengths to be identified and children and educators engage in the program together. Children are encouraged to ask questions, listen to the ideas of others and to develop their own ideas, developing deeper understandings.
Children are provided with opportunities to practise and develop their social and emotional skills- key areas of development for a child regarding school readiness.
Authentic Aboriginal perspectives are embedded throughout the preschool program.
Yugari Nature Play Program
At Pippies we are passionate about Nature Play and fostering a love of nature and the natural environment. Yugari runs on Mondays for children attending school the following year and is an offsite program that supports children's holistic growth and development through unstructured, child-led play and exploration. We support children to engage in healthy risk taking and build independence and confidence. Our nature play program extends children's connection with nature, country and the local community, fostering environmental stewards
